Charlie, Vonnie and Pat have survived their first couple of months as trainee Watchers. As they settle into their new lives and deepen their friendships, it seems that everything is well. But is it?
They have already proved they can fight, but when emotions come into play it is hard to know who is right and who is wrong. At the same time, there have been deaths in Grand-Pré and the Watchers are doing what they do best - watching. Will Charlie stand by and allow it, and what will be the results?
